In 1910, J.W. Judson bought Jenner Manufacturing Company, who manufactured hard stick candies, peanut brittles, and 5 cent fudge bars. In the 30's, Judson started making new candies with jelly and creme centers such as fruit drops, orange slices, jelly beans, and easter eggs. He wound up inventing the "sour ball", one of Judson-Atkinsons's most popular items.
